The Elite Rescue Academy Pump Operator Series consists of two classes completed in a blended format. These classes include: Fire Service Hydraulics 45hr Blended Course & Apparatus Operations 45hr Blended Course.

When a student signs up they will be given access to the online Pump Operator Series courses. Students pick a scheduled in-person training session (16hrs), once they have completed the online courses. The schedule of in-person training sessions will be made available to all students once they sign up for the class.

Fire Service Hydraulics: This course covers the relationship between flow, pressure, and mathematical hydraulic formu- las. The course includes pump theory, pump rating, and pressure and vacuum gauges.

Apparatus Operations: This course covers the laws, rules and driving techniques for emergency vehicles as well as a review of hydraulics. Fire-ground evolutions and driving make up the practical part of the course. The evolution portion of the course includes the use of pre-connected lines, tandem pumping, drafting relays and master streams. The student should have a basic understanding of fire stream hydraulics prior to entering this course.
